One of the largest drug discovery companies in Europe, Selvita has two primary focus areas: to serve the drug discovery market as a customer centric provider of high quality, integrated drug discovery services, and as a drug discovery company engaged in the research and development of breakthrough therapies in oncology. Established in 2007, the company currently employs over 600 scientists, among which 30% are PhDs. Selvita is headquartered in Krakow, Poland, with a second research site in Poznan, Poland. In Cambridge UK, Boston and San Francisco in the US, Selvita has set up its business development offices to serve clients locally and increase Selvita’s visibility where the heart of biotechnology beats.
The idea to set up an office in the UK came up in December 2014 and very quickly materialized in May 2015, when the company was registered and started its operations on the British soil. Selvita, well recognized in most of the countries of continental Western Europe and in the US, was a completely new member of the UK Life-Science community at that time. The primary aim was therefore to increase the visibility and identify partners who could benefit from Selvita’s presence in the UK. Building trust and developing relationships is a long and gradual process that requires time and patience…. And although initially it was a real challenge to attract attention on a competitive and sophisticated British market, we are proud to say that we have already developed a number of great partnerships locally with pharma and biotech companies, universities and charities located within “the Golden Triangle” and beyond. It was possible thanks to win-win relationships with our partners who appreciated all the hard work and recommended us locally. As a result we are motivated to work even harder!
What attracted us to CB1 Business Centre was the great location, nice fully equipped offices, availability of modern conference rooms and all the associated services. It’s also great that we can access the building at any time, seven days a week.
Quite often we organise meetings with our business partners on-site and then we appreciate the opportunity to use bookable meeting rooms. It’s flexible and very convenient. It’s also very helpful that reception handles post, deliveries and couriers – it makes our life easier. The staff is always friendly and happy to help, so we can entirely focus on supporting our clients.
